Here is a list of the Aubrey/Maturin Series books by Patrick O'Brian. They are an amazing set of books and I am only halfway through them at the moment.
But a word of warning. If you start reading them you will become addicted. There is no cure and no going back once you have caught the 19th Century
British Naval bug.

There are of course other books by Patrick O'Brian. One that I have read is the Golden Ocean which is about the circumnavigation by Admiral Anson which describes
the voyage from the viewpoint of a young Irish midshipman. Another book by Patrick O'Brian is the biography of Joseph Banks. That is one the list to read but as yet
am plowing through the Aubrey/Maturin books at a rate of 200 miles per day on a bowline breeze.
