Tall Ship One&All

The tall ship One&All was at Geelong for the Victorian Long Weekend in March. It was moored at the Cunningham Pier at the Geelong water front. They were having half day sails from 9:30 in the morning until 12 noon. After the long weekend, they will be going back to Williamstown for more sailing trips for the public. They will also be doing twilight sails from 6 until 10pm. These include a buffet and beverages. Day sails go from 10 o'clock in the morning until 2 o'clock in the afernoon.

Here is a photo of the tall ship One&All at the dock at Geelong. She has two masts, the main mast is schooner-rigged with a fore and aft sail like on modern boats and the foremast is square-rigged with a main course and topsail.

The schedule for voyages for the early part of 2010 are as follows. On Tuesday 5th March, 2010, the One&All will be sailing from Melbourne to Portland. This is a four day voyage. The Portland to Adelaide stretch departs from Portland on Monday 29th March. If you want to do the whole voyage from Melbourne to Adelaide, this is an 11 day voyage. This tall ship adventure would the the trip of a life time. A voyage on the One&All was described by some on the pamphlet as the "ultimate life changing experience", so do not miss this fanstastic opportunity to take part in these remarkable voyages!

Here in this photo-graph some crew of the tall ship One&All are working on some rigging and sails on the bow-sprit. Notice that they are wearing harnesses. Most workers on tall ships wear safety gear when working out on the bow-sprit or going aloft. They clip on to a safety line and use ascenders similar to what rock climbers use.

This is a photo of the tall ship One&All from sea. It shows her main mast and the foremast. You can clearly see the boom for the main fore and aft-rigged main course. The yard-arms can be seen on the fore-mast. It could have a main course with top-sail and possibly a top-gallant sail that could be rigged.
